I realize it is a no-no to sell on a blog, so I’m not selling. But I have written five books, and if you want to know about me, I guess knowing about my books is part of the package. Only two are “in print” but the others are often available at Amazon or other book resellers online.

I wrote HOW TO RECOVER FROM GRIEF with my wife, Nicola Steele, and it grew out of our ministries in the church with people who had lost loved ones. My PhD dissertation was on grief recovery, and the book sort of grew out of my thesis, our experience, and our work with people recovering from loss. It is available on Amazon or through the publisher, Judson Press, as well as in many Christian bookstores.

NORMAN VINCENT PEALE: THE MAN & HIS MINISTRY- Norman Vincent Peale died in 1993 at the age of 95, but during many years of ministry at Marble Collegiate Church in New York City he had an enormous impact.  Known for his “Power of Positive Thinking”, Peale motivated millions of people to achieve more than they had ever imagined.  I got to know Dr. Peale when I was a young minister serving an all-black church in a Puerto Rican area of the South Bronx.  He took a grandfatherly interest in me and my ministry.   Well into his late 80’s he was enthralling huge audiences around the country with his motivational messages.  Now out of print, but occasionally available on line as a used book.

GOD LOVES YOU AND I DO TOO!  - An Ideals book that was a collection of uplifting messages lavishly illustrated.  Now out of print, but occasionally available on Amazon used.

POSITIVE LIVING IN TOUGH TIMES- For several years I had a newspaper column with the same title that appeared in about fifty weekly newspapers around the country.  This book was a collection of some of the best of those weekly columns.  I may dig through them and post a couple sometime here on my blog.  Some were really good!
